Celluloid pickguards - Gibson styles
Genuine celluloid pickguards. These handmade pickguards are the most authentic 'vintage style' pickguards we can obtain.
They are beautifully made from traditionally patterned celluloid and polished to a high gloss.
Individually made, and patterns vary.
The edge is rounded and polished to an elegant radius.
All fitted with 3M 467 adhesive film ready for installation.
We have recently been able to get some excellent 30s-style firestripe sheet - ideal on all Gibsons and Kalamazoos, but particularly nice on dark sunbursts.
The lighter parts are translucent once the adhesive film's backing paper is removed.
We also now have black celluloid - this looks much better on older instruments than black PVC sheet -
and some very nice 'vintage pearloid' which looks great on black or dark sunburst tops.
The red celluloid is the closest we've been able to get to the material used on many 1960s Gibson batwing guards.
We stock a good range of common styles, including some lefties. Any marked 'out of stock' can usually be made and shipped in 2-3 days and we and can make other styles to order.
Please check out our templates page before ordering. Using a template is the best way to ensure a good fit, due the compound curves involved. Our templates also give the diameter of the soundhole rings they fit in inches and mm.
