| Pick-up the World #27 transducer
Anyone looking for a Pick-up the World acoustic guitar pickup? It's their standard model #27 transducer. These pickups are made of high-tech polymer film. You can find further information about them at www.pick-uptheworld.com I'm selling this for a friend who previously used it coupled with a Baggs I-Mix, but he's now gone over to using K&Ks on his guitars. It's in good condition. These list at $150 and sell at $110-125 in the States - I've never seen them advertised in the UK, but a new one would probably be about £90-£100 including freight, duty and VAT. There are some excellent reviews of this pickup on the web (e.g. on Harmony Central), although all reviewers emphasise that a preamp is essential. It's currently wired to an 1/8" mini-jack (to plug into the I-Mix, or the PUTW Stealth preamp), but could easily be rewired into an standard Switchcraft 1/2" endpin jack. £20 including postage, or an extra £12.50 if you want it wired to a standard endpin jack as well. This Headway HE1/G1 acoustic guitar pickup and preamp is used but in excellent condition. It was removed from a friend's Fylde Goodfellow guitar because he wanted volume and tone controls on the guitar (It was replaced by a Baggs I-Mix Onboard system.) The HE1 is a flexible piezo pickup for steel strings. It fits under the saddle, and it features a Fixed EQ / Mid Cut. The G1 Series pre-amplifiers are specially tailored to the HE1, and are designed to perform far beyond the typical pickup's "cold replication" by generating a controlled amount of flattering, even harmonics, perceived as top end sparkle similar to adding an aural exciter or a warmed up valve stage. In addition, the HE1 Series pre-amps feature tight tolerance audio components of maximum life, solder resist glass fibre PCB's, conformal coated against corrosion, in grounded metal boxes, padded against vibration. Also provided is a velcro-mounted battery holder and a couple of clips for tidying the wiring. The HE1/G1 is a simple installation solution requiring minimal modification, while providing a great, warm, sparkling sound from any quality acoustic guitar.
